MANILA -- Former NBA superstar Dwight Howard might sign up with another Filipino team.

Junnie Navarro, team owner of Zamboanga Valientes told reporters Tuesday that there is a "70 percent" chance Howard would clear a deal with the team.

Zamboanga Valientes are set to bring their act to The Asian Tournament 2024 in Guangdong, China which kicks off on April 19.

"Actually until now, it's still under negotiation but we're hoping that we can sign him but siguro nasa 70 percent and according also 'yung sa nagdi-deal, medyo okay naman daw si Dwight," Navarro said.

In case Howard signs with the team, he will reinforce UAAP Season 85 MVP Malick Diouf, former FEU star Mike Tolomia, MPBL standout Rudy Lingganay, NCAA Season 99 champion Peter Alfaro of the San Beda Red Lions, former Meralco Bolts Franky Johnson, ex-Rain or Shine import Nick Evans, among others.

But negotiations may take up until the last week of June, Navarro noted, just in time for the city's hosting of the grand finals.

"So hopefully by last week of June we will announce kasi July we will be hosting the grand finals of The Asian Tournament in Zamboanga City," Navarro said.

The Zamboanga Valientes will fly to China on Wednesday for the basketball tilt.

Howard recently donned the jersey of Filipino team Strong Group Athletics in the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championships, where he led the team to a second-place finish.
