Nakalaya na ang 20 miyembro at kaalyado ng LGBT community na nakulong dahil sa isang Pride March sa Maynila, ayon sa kanilang abogado nitong Martes.

Sa panayam sa ABS-CBN News, sinabi ni Minerva Lopez, abogado ng mga hinuli, na hindi sapat ang ebidensiya ng mga pulis kaya pinalaya sila.

"The resolution ordering their release for further investigation only proves that the evidence submitted by the Manila Police is insufficient. We also assert that apart from being insufficient, the allegations in the complaint as well as the pieces of evidence presented are also baseless. walang batas na nalabag, walang krimen," sinabi ni Lopez sa ABS-CBN News.

Kinumpira rin ni Lopez na ang grupo ay maghahain ng countercharges laban sa mga pulis na nanghuli sa kanila nitong Biyernes.

"Yes. We will make sure that those who are liable for the violent dispersal of the peaceful Pride March and the blatant violation of the rights of those arrested will be held accountable. Sobra na," ani Lopez.

Una nang kinumpirma ni Lopez ang plano habang inaasikaso pa ang pagpapalaya sa Pride 20.

Inaresto ng mga pulis ang Pride 20 nitong Biyernes sa Mendiola habang nagsasagawa sila ng mapayapa at may distansiyang protesta kasabay ng paggunita sa Pride month ngayong Hunyo.

Ilang mga artista rin ang nanawagan ng pagpapalaya sa kanila katulad nina Vice Ganda at Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray na kapwa LBGT rights advocate.
