Senator Roland ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa presides a hearing on September 5, 2023. Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA — Sen. Ronald dela Rosa is unbothered by former Sen. Antonio Trillanes' revelation that he is now among those considered "suspects" in the drug war case before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

"What's new? My name was always mentioned since 2016. Seems like a broken record that keeps on repeating the same lines," Dela Rosa said.

Trillanes posted on X a document from the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the ICC, naming Dela Rosa, former Philippine National Police officials Oscar Albayalde, Edilberto Leonardo, Eleazar Mata, and former CIDG chief and current Northern Luzon commander Maj. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. as "suspects."

“In this context, the OTP has reasonable grounds to believe that the following retired and serving members of the Philippine National Police, have committed crimes within the jurisdiction of the OTP,” the OTP said in the document.

Dela Rosa, who implemented former President Rodrigo Duterte's bloody drug war, has previously admitted that human rights violations were committed at the height of controversial anti-drug campaign.

Duterte's drug war, which killed thousands of alleged drug addicts according to human rights groups, is currently under probe by the ICC.

However, Dela Rosa urged critics of the drug war to just file cases against them in Philippine courts.
