MANILA – Heads up, basketball fans!

Gilas Pilipinas will be playing against Taiwan Mustangs in an exhibition match slated Monday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced the development Thursday, adding that gate attendance will be free for all.

Taiwan Mustangs recently signed former NBA stars Dwight Howard and DeMarcus Cousins, but it is still uncertain if they would play in the friendly game.

This is part of the team's preparation for its campaign in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament on July 2-7 to be held in Latvia.

The country is drawn with Georgia and host country Latvia in Group A.

Headed by naturalized player Justin Brownlee, the national team is coming off victories in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers versus Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei earlier this year.
