Jeffrey de Luna beat former champion Alex Pagulayan 11-5 on Friday (Thursday, US time) to become the last Filipino standing in the 2019 US Open 9-Ball Championship at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

The victory allowed de Luna to move to the semifinals, where he faces Joshua Filler of Germany on Saturday.

Prior to beating Pagulayan, De Luna had to go through Imran Majid of Britain 11-9 in the last 16.

According to ABS-CBN Sports, De Luna initially came off strong for a commanding 8-1 lead.
