With Christian Standhardinger expected to join San Miguel Beer soon, the Beermen are expected to field the most formidable lineup in the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

This, however, does not guarantee success in the tournament, according to San Miguel’s Marcio Lassiter.

“You know on paper, we can have strong players but you got to put the work in,” said Lassiter, when asked about the 6-foot-8 Fil-German’s addition to the team.

Standhardinger was San Miguel's no. 1 overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft.

He could join the Beermen in May after he fulfills his commitment with the Hong Kong Eastern club in the ASEAN Basketball League. Hong Kong is currently locked in a semifinal joust with San Miguel Alab Pilipinas.

Lassiter hopes the Fil-German big man can immediately adjust to the team's system to help the Beermen achieve their goal.

“Regardless who’s on our team we have to acclimate him into our system and hopefully he can acclimate quick,” said the San Miguel gunner.

“We need to get him on board 'cause our goal is to win the championship next conference.”

San Miguel recently completed a historic 4-peat conquest in the Philippine Cup.

Arwind Santos, who attributed the victory to their chemistry on and off the court, said he hopes their bond becomes stronger with the arrival of Standhardinger.

“Mas exciting kasi sinasabi nila 'yung team namin maganda na ang samahan. Sana lang mas maging maganda ang samahan namin 'pag dating niya,” he said.
