President Ferdinand Marcos Jr led the distribution of aid to farmers, fisherfolk and livestock raisers in Ilocos Norte, as part of continuing government efforts to assist agricultural workers affected by the El Niño phenomenon and recent calamities.

During the program held at the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac City, Ilocos Norte, Marcos Jr turned over P157.95 million worth of agri-fishery machinery, seeds, fertilizers, fuel subsidies and solar-powered irrigation systems to farmers' association beneficiaries from Districts 1 and 2.

According to the Palace, the interventions were provided by the Department of Agriculture Regional Office 1 and the Ilocos Norte government.

“Layunin ng mga kagamitan at input na ito, maging mas mataas ang inyong produksyon at matulungang makabangon tayo mula sa epekto ng nagdaang kalamidad,” Marcos Jr told the beneficiaries.

“Ang tulong na ito ay bahagi lamang ng mas malaking hangarin para sa lahat na isang pagkilala sa sakripisyo na binubuhos ninyo sa Ilocos at sa buong bansa,” the President continued.

“Every step that you take it comes under the unity that we have forged between the different agencies of the government, hindi lamang ang DA, kasama din dyan ang DOLE, ang BFAR, ang DILG, lahat po kami sa pamahalaan ay nagkakaisa para mabigyan ng tulong ang ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda.”
