DAVAO CITY (2nd UPDATE) — Tension rose in front of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in Sasa, Davao City early Monday as more than 100 police officers from various Philippine National Police units arrived to reportedly serve an arrest warrant against its leader Apollo Quiboloy, who is facing abuse and trafficking cases in courts in the city and in Pasig City.

Supporters also showed up at the entrance gate to call for “justice” for the fugitive pastor, who remains at large. One supporter also used a megaphone to defend Quioboloy from the issues he is facing.

PNP personnel, including some in helicopters, were able to enter the KOJC compound but police have yet to give an update on what they found inside.

"Ang intention ng PNP ay iimplement yung WOAs (warrants of arrest) na inissue ng ating mga korte. So ang pakiusap natin ay maging mahinahon tayong lahat," national police pokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo later said.

"Ang inyong kapulisan ay nandoon for official discharge of their duties. Walang anumang hangarin ang ating kapulisan na magkaroon ng anumang sakitang at anumang pagkakagulo," she said in a briefing.

Fajardo said she had no information yet on whether the warrants' subjects were spotted.

"I want to take this opportunity also na manawagan muli kay Pastor Quiboloy at iba pa pong mga akusado para maiwasan yung mga ganitong mga sitwasyon ay sana sumuko na sila at harapin yung mga kasong isinampa sa kanila para mabigyan din sila ng pagkakataon na sagutin itong mga reklamo at I think yung courts yun yung proper venue para sagutin itong mga reklamong isinampa sa kanila," she said.

Quiboloy and his supporters have denied the allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking, saying these were made by former members who have grudges against the religious group.

He has also denied allegations of rape, saying his women followers fight each other to be with him.

Quiboloy, a spiritual adviser of former President Rodrigo Duterte, has not been seen in public since courts issued warrants for his arrest.
