Torreon said Canada decided to entrust all his licensed guns as a gun sports collector to the authorities.

The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act authorizes civilians to own and use firearms. Depending on license type, a civilian can as many as 15 firearms.

Collectors, a separate license type, can own more than 15.

"This act is made in order to show good faith that Barangay Captain Canada and the leaders of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ The Name Above Every Name have no intention to use violence as a means to further their lawful and Godly objectives," Torreon said in his Facebook post.

"Barangay Captain Cresente Canada is a licensed sports gun collector yet he has chosen to entrust his guns to police authorities if only to dispel vicious rumours that he is using his guns to protect Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy," he added.

Authorities have not yet located or arrested Quiboloy.
