Remaining sacks of dead tilapia, gathered along Cañacao Bay by the Cavite City local government and the Philippine Navy, await transfer to a nearby landfill in Cavite City on November 15, 2023. A number of residents were evacuated due to a foul odor, which emerged after hundreds of dead fish were seen floating along the bay since November 12. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has launched an investigation to assess the real cause of the fish kill in the area.
