MANILA — Tropical storm Enteng has maintained its strength as it heads towards the sea east of Polillo Islands, weather bureau Pagasa said in its 11 a.m. bulletin, with its center estimated to be at the northeast of Infanta, Quezon or east southeast of Baler, Aurora.

Enteng maintained its maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 994 hPa.

Enteng is forecast to maintain tropical storm category until Tuesday during its traverse of mainland Northern Luzon

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2  (62-88 km/h wind within the next 24 hours) was raised in the following areas in Luzon:


• Northern portion of Ilocos Norte, Apayao

• Eastern portion of Kalinga (Rizal, Pinukpuk, City of Tabuk)

• Cagayan including Babuyan Islands

• Isabela

Quirino

• Northern portion of Aurora (Casiguran, Dilasag, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler), 

Polillo Islands

• Northern portion of Camarines Norte (Santa Elena, Capalonga, Jose Panganiban, Paracale, Vinzons)


Meanwhile, TC Signal No. 1 (39-61 km/h wind within the next 36 hours) is raised in the following areas:


Metro Manila

• Batanes

• The rest of Ilocos Norte

• Ilocos Sur

• La Union

Eastern portion of Pangasinan

Abra

The rest of Kalinga

• Mountain Province

Ifugao

Benguet

Nueva Vizcaya

• The rest of Aurora

• Nueva Ecija

• Eastern portion of Pampanga (Candaba)

Eastern portion of Bulacan

The rest of Quezon

Rizal

Laguna

• The eastern portion of Batangas 

Marinduque

• The rest of Camarines Norte

Camarines Sur

• Catanduanes

Albay




Enteng is forecast to make landfall over Isabela or Cagayan this afternoon or evening, although a landfall over northern Aurora is not ruled out at this time, Pagasa noted.

Pagasa cautioned the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices "to take all necessary measures to protect life and property."

On the track forecast, the Enteng may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday.
