Enteng now a tropical storm as it nears Catanduanes

MANILA -- Enteng has intensified into a tropical storm as it heads closer to Catanduanes late Sunday evening, said PAGASA.

The weather bureau last sighted Enteng over the coastal waters of Bagamanoc, Catanduanes, moving Westward at 15 km/h.

It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.

Luzon

The eastern portion of Camarines Sur (Caramoan), Catanduanes (Virac, San Andres, Pandan, Bato, Gigmoto, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, San Miguel, Viga, Baras, Caramoran) and the eastern portion of Isabela (Palanan, Divilacan, Dinapigue)

Meanwhile, the following areas are placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1:

Luzon

The eastern portion of Cagayan (Baggao, Pe, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Alcala, Amulung, Iguig, Tuguegarao City, Enrile, Solana) including Babuyan Islands, the eastern and central portions of Isabela (San Agustin, San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Mariano, Maconacon, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Ilagan City, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Quirino, Gamu, Benito Soliven, Naguilian, City of Cauayan, Angadanan, Reina Mercedes, Luna, Burgos), the eastern and southern portions of Quirino (Nagtipunan, Maddela, Aglipay, Saguday), the southern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda), Aurora, the northern and southern portion of Quezon (Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Buenavista, San Narciso, Mulanay, San Andres, San Francisco, Lopez, Calauag, Catanauan, Gumaca, Macalelon, General Luna, Quezon, Alabat, Perez, General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Mauban, Unisan, Pitogo, Padre Burgos, Atimonan, Agdangan, Plaridel) including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, the rest of Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate incuding Ticao and Burias Islands

Visayas

Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, and the northeastern portion of Leyte (Babatngon, San Miguel, Tacloban City, Alangalang, Santa Fe, Palo, Barugo)

Enteng will enhance the southwest monsoon or Habagat, resulting to strong to gale-force gusts over: 

Sunday to Monday evening: 

MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, Eastern Visayas (outside Wind Signal areas), Caraga Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula

Monday evening to Tuesday evening: 

Zambales, Bataan, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Caraga Region.

Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening:

Zambales, Bataan, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.

The enhanced southwest monsoon will also bring moderate to intense rainfall in other areas of Luzon and Visayas.

Heavy Rainfall Outlook

Sunday to Monday evening 

00 mm: Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Polillo Island, and the southern portion of mainland Quezon

100-200 mm: The rest of Quezon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Samar

50-100 mm: Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, the rest of CALABARZON, Marinduque, Romblon, Eastern      

Monday evening to Tuesday evening 

100-200 mm: Isabela, Cagayan, Abra, and Ilocos Norte

50-100 mm: Aurora and the rest of Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and mainland Cagayan Valley

Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening 

100-200 mm: Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, and the northern portion of Ilocos Sur

50-100 mm: Batanes, mainland Cagayan, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region.
