MANILA -- Tropical Depression Enteng is steadily moving closer to the Philippine landmass Sunday evening and might possibly make its landfall in the Bicol Region, according to the state weather bureau.

Enteng was last sighted over the coastal waters of Baras, Catanduanes at 7 p.m. with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. 

It is moving Northwestward at 15 km/h, bringing strong winds that extend outwards up to 200 km from the center.

PAGASA said Enteng is expected to intensify into a tropical storm on Monday. It will slowly lurch over Extreme Northern Luzon early Tuesday through Thursday when it may strengthen into a severe tropical storm.

It may exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Friday as a typhoon.

The eastern portion of Cagayan (Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Baggao, Peñablanca), the eastern portion of Isabela (Palanan, Dinapigue, Divilacan, San Agustin, San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Mariano, Maconacon, San Pablo, Cabagan, Tumauini, Ilagan City), the southern portion of Quirino (Nagtipunan, Maddela), the southern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda), Aurora, northern and southern portion of Quezon (Tagkawayan, Guinayangan, Buenavista, San Narciso, Mulanay, San Andres, San Francisco, Lopez, Calauag, Catanauan, Gumaca, Macalelon, General Luna, Quezon, Alabat, Perez, General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Mauban, Unisan, Pitogo, Padre Burgos, Atimonan, Agdangan, Plaridel) including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands 

Visayas

Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, and the northeastern portion of Leyte (Babatngon, San Miguel, Tacloban City, Alangalang, Santa Fe, Palo, Barugo) 

The weather disturbance is expected enhance the southwest monsoon and dump torrential rains over Western Luzon.

Heavy Rainfall Outlook

Sunday to Monday evening:

200 mm: Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Polillo Island, and the southern portion of mainland Quezon

100-200 mm: The rest of Quezon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Samar

50-100 mm: Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, the rest of CALABARZON, Marinduque, Romblon, Eastern Samar, Biliran, and the northern portion of Leyte.

Monday evening to Tuesday evening 

100-200 mm: Isabela, Cagayan, Abra, and Ilocos Norte

50-100 mm: Aurora and the rest of Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and mainland Cagayan Valley

Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening 

100-200 mm: Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, and the northern portion of Ilocos Sur

50-100 mm: Batanes, mainland Cagayan, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region.

PAGASA said the rains will batter Bicol, CALABARZON, and parts of MIMAROPA and Visayas Sunday overnight through Monday midday; Luzon especially Central and Northern Luzon the rest of Monday through Friday.

Serious and widespread floods and landslides are possible in many areas in Luzon.

Metro Manila may experience the heaviest rains Monday and will still be very rainy Tuesday through Thursday. Friday through weekend may already see sunny intervals but will have scattered thunderstorms.
