MANILA -- Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo’s brother, Wesley Leal Guo, turns out to be Chinese whose real name is Guo Xiang Dian. 

This was the revelation of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, based on the fingerprint matching of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) using its biometric records and the records of the Board of Investments (BOI). 

“Guo Xiang Dian arrived in the PH (Philippines) in 1999. He's listed as the dependent son of Lin Wen Yi which made him Guo Hua Ping's brother,” Gatchalian said.

Lin Wen Yi is the Chinese national believed to be the real mother of Mayor Guo. Authorities have alleged that Lin’s daughter, Guo Hua Ping, is actually the suspended Mayor after their fingerprints matched, according to the NBI.

“This again demonstrates that the late registration process was abused by the Guo family to falsely claim that they are Filipinos,” Gatchalian said. 

Aside from Wesley, Mayor Guo has two other siblings—Sheila and Seimen. They have all been subpoenaed to attend the July 10 hearing. If they refuse to come, a warrant of arrest will be issued to bring them to the Senate. 

Gatchalian has said in a Teleradyo Serbisyo interview on Wednesday that Mayor Guo cannot be a star witness in the investigation on illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) as she is not the least guilty. 

“Hindi ko kasi nakikitang least guilty siya dahil doon sa mga dokumento na nakita namin, siya yung nag-apply. In fact, siya yung nag-trigger para makapasok itong POGO hub sa Bamban,” Gatchalian said. \

(I did not see that she is the least guilty because based on documents, she was the one who applied for the POGO. In fact, she was the one who who helped the POGO enter Bamban.)

NBI finds another 'Alice Guo' in database 

“Iiwan ko na lang sa mga abogado natin sa gobyerno kung pwede siya maging star witness.” 

(I will leave it to our government lawyers to determine if she can be a star witness.)

The camp of the embattled mayor earlier said the NBI's fingerprint analysis was not yet "verified."

Guo has insisted that she is a Filipino. She denied that she was a Chinese spy or had links to illegal POGOs.
