MANILA – The heads of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) met Wednesday to discuss a looming election offense case against suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.

The NBI recently confirmed that the mayor’s fingerprints matched that of Guo Hua Ping, who came into the Philippines as a teen while using a Chinese passport.

Guo has insisted that she is a Filipino. She denied that she is a Chinese spy or that she had alleged links to illegal POGOs.

Guo's lawyer Stephen David said that despite NBI's findings on the mayor, only the courts could try the facts and evidence and not the public.
