"Madami yung damaged na facilities na affected ang services kasi mostly collapsed ang roof nila," Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said.

Herbosa said the health facilities would be rebuilt immediately using the DOH quick release funds.

The agency is also on the lookout for any rise of water-borne diseases, in the wake of the flooding caused by heavy rains.

"The next wave we're waiting for is the leptospirosis outbreak because we saw a lot of people, especially in urban Metro Manila, that were swimming together with the rats and the basura… Wala pa [sa ngayon], it takes about a week to get those cases in the hospital," Herbosa said.  – With a report from Zen Hernandez, ABS-CBN News
