MANILA (UPDATED) — PAGASA on Wednesday morning issued a red warning for "torrential rains" due to the habagat enhanced by typhoon Carina, which could cause flooding and landslides in Metro Manila and parts of Luzon. 

As of 2 p.m., the red warning was up over the capital region, Zambales, Bataan, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga and Tarlac. 

"Serious flooding and landslides are expected" in areas prone to these hazards, PAGASA said.

Yellow warning for "heavy rains" was up over Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Nueva Ecija and Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real, Mauban, Sampaloc).

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are affecting other parts of Quezon (Candelaria, Dolores, San Antonio, Sariaya, Tiaong, Tayabas, Lucban, Lucena, Pagbilao, Agdangan, Alabat, Atimonan, Buenavista, Burdeos, Calauag, Catanauan, General Luna, Guinayangan, Gumaca, Jomalig, Lopez, Macalelon, Mulanay, Padre Burgos, Panukulan, Patnanungan, Perez, Pitogo, Plaridel, Polillo, Quezon, San Andres, San Francisco, San Narciso, Tagkawayan, Unisan).
