MALAYSIA— Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday said she is on “good terms” with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. following tirades from her father and brother against the President.

“We have no problem with each other. Pres. Bongbong Marcos and I are doing good. We are okay in terms of our relationship, both personal and work relationship,” she told reporters in an interview with media in Malaysia.

Her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, earlier called Marcos a “drug addict” while her brother, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, urged the President to resign.

While they had been together in several occasions days after, VP Duterte said Marcos did not discuss the matter with her.

“Hindi naman nagtanong sa akin si Pangulong Marcos about sa mga sinabi ng aking kapatid at tatay,” she said.

The Vice President also said she has not spoken with her family regarding the issue.

Marcos earlier expressed his continued trust and confidence in VP Duterte and said that she would stay as Education Secretary. The president also insisted that the "UniTeam" is still there.

"If you remember, UniTeam is not just one party, 2 or 3 parties. It’s the unification of all political forces in the Philippines," he said. "That is still there. It is still vibrant. It is still working, and we will continue on that basis."

On her relationship with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, Duterte said she had “no comment as of this time”.

In a recent viral video online, the First Lady and the Vice President both attended the departure ceremony of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his Vietnam visit but did not interact with each other.
