Katrina Domingo, ABS-CBN News MANILA -- Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski on Saturday filed their respective certificates of candidacy in the local Commission on Elections office, formalizing their re-election bid for the 2025 midterm elections.

Sotto and Jaworski are both running as independent candidates in 2025 after they earlier bolted from Aksyon Demokratiko.

"The first term, we started a lot of reforms, we introduced a lot of changes in the city. Second term, we started to institutionalize; third term, ito na siguro yung masasabi nating exciting part," Sotto told reporters.

Among the programs Sotto hopes to develop is the pension for senior citizens in Pasig, and the construction of the new city hall.

"We're really looking forward to the next three years. Tuluy-tuloy lang sa trabaho, kung pwede lang dere-deretso lang yung trabaho pero siyempre, napakaimportante nitong ginagawa natin every 3 years," he said.

Should he win a second term, Jaworski said he intends to focus on local legislation on livelihood to complement his push for better education policies.

"I think kailangan ng mga kababayan natin ng maayos na trabaho pero bigyan din natin sila ng tamang skill at talento para makuha nila yung mga available na industriya na nandito sa Pasig," Jaworski said.

Sotto is expected to compete with Sarah Discaya, one of the owners of St. Gerrard General Contractor and Development Corporation (SGGCDC), while Jaworski may be pitted against former Pasig Vice Mayor Iyo Caruncho Bernardo.

Sotto was accompanied by his parents — veteran actors Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes — while Jaworski came with his Olympian-wife Mikee Cojuanco and their three sons.
