MANILA - Two senators on Thursday spoke against bullying after a video of an altercation between two students of the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School went viral on social media.

In a series of tweets, Sen. Sonny Angara reminded schools to strictly enforce the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013.

"Just a reminder to schools to strictly enforce their AntiBullying policies required under the AntiBullying Law. Disturbing videos going viral now. #NoToBullying," he said.

"Our schools should not forget that under the Family Code they are legally responsible for kids under their custody #NoToBullying."

Sen. JV Ejercito, meanwhile, said: "Parents shouldn’t tolerate their kids who bully other kids."

The Ateneo Junior High School said it is investigating the incident.

"The video, taken at face value, depicts and evident act of violence that constitutes a serious violation of disciplinary misconduct," it said.

"The Ateneo Junior High School is dealing with this matter seriously beginning with an immediate investigation that ensued the moment the report reached us."
