MANILA (UPDATE)—Powerful winds and intense rains damaged the Legazpi Airport during the onslaught of typhoon Tisoy, Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara said early Tuesday.
"Bumigay 'yong ceiling. Tanggal 'yong mga bintana at wala eh, talagang bumigay nga eh," he told radio DZMM.
Parts of the airport's walls were ripped apart and glass windows were shattered, photos and videos captured by ABS-CBN News showed.

The province was affected by Tisoy's eyewall, which is considered by weather specialists as the most damaging part of the typhoon.
Tisoy was packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour, with gusts of up to 275 kph.
