Ronnie Dayan, Senator Leila de Lima's alleged bagman and former driver, will be detained at the House of Representatives after he is processed by the police on Tuesday afternoon.
House Sergeant-at-Arms Roland Detabali said Dayan will undergo a medical examination and other processes at the Philippine National Police's Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Dayan will then be brought to the House of Representatives, where House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez may receive him between 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. A House panel has been conducting a series of inquiries on the alleged narcotics trade.
House Majority Leader Rodolfo Farinas said in a separate text message: "He will have to be brought before the Speaker who issued the warrant for his arrest, and will testify before the Committee on Justice."
Dayan surrendered to authorities in La Union on Tuesday. He has been accused of receiving drug money from Bilibid inmates meant for De Lima's 2016 senatorial campaign.
Detabali, however, prohibited media from taking photos or videos of Dayan's detention area at the House of Representatives.
The room, which will be around 3 x 3 meters, will have its own restroom, table, sofa, receiving room, airconditioning and bedroom. But Dayan will not be given access to television and other gadgets, said Detabali. - with reports from RG Cruz
