MANILA - A road rage suspect sporting a special "8" license plate reserved for congressmen was arrested in Tarlac City, police said Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Jojo Valerio, was caught on surveillance footage last Sunday as he punched a motorist along McArthur Highway in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The 30-year-old Valerio is an entertainer and was arrested at a gig Tuesday night, police said.

He had a gig at a casino at the Clark Freeport Zone and was driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser when the altercation occurred.

"Namonitor po natin through social media. Malaking tulong po ng ating netizens, very useful ang information coming from them. So na-track natin kung saan ang movements nitong si Jojo Valerio," Supt. Nixon Cayaban, officer-in-charge of Angeles City Police, told radio DZMM.

Police are still investigating how the suspect obtained a No. 8 license plate.

Cayaban said Valerio denied he is a relative of Pampanga Rep. Carmelo Lazatin II.
