MANILA - Even foreign bettors can win the estimated P1.07 billion jackpot of Ultra Lotto 6/58, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said Thursday.
"Yes, they can play the lotto and they can win also. RA 1169 (PCSO Charter) does not state any prohibition on foreigners to play lotto," PCSO told ABS-CBN News.
All lotto players must be 18 years old and above to buy tickets and claim winnings, according to the PCSO website.
The Ultra Lotto 6/58 jackpot is estimated at P1,070,000,000 as of 4 p.m. Thursday. It is the highest lotto prize in history. In 2010, a lone winner bagged the P741 million Grand Lotto 6/55.
On Tuesday, 113 bettors almost won the P1-billion jackpot.
Players who guessed 5 out of 6 numbers in the winning combination will get up to P280,000, while those who guessed 4 out of 6 numbers will get up to P3,800 according to PCSO rules.
The prize money, however, can change depending on the "total sales generated and the number of winners on the particular draw."
Ultra Lotto 6/58 draws, which costs P24 per bet, are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
