MANILA - The LRT-1 closed 2 of its stations during the morning rush hour on Thursday, a day after twin glitches disrupted operations in Metro Manila's 2 other railways.
Around 7 a.m., the LRT-1 management said it could only ferry passengers from Yamaha Monumento to Baclaran stations and vice versa.
"Our service in Roosevelt Stn is currently experiencing mechanical issues and is now being checked by our technicians onsite," it explained.
In an update at 8:35 a.m., the LRT-1 management said its Balintawak and Roosevelt stations "will be closed until further notice due to extended servicing needed for the mechanical issue we encountered this morning."
"Our Monumento to Baclaran stations continue to be open and operational. We are hoping for your cooperation and understanding," it said.
"Rest assured we are doing our best to finish the repair in the soonest possible time and update everyone. We apologize again for the inconvenience."
Early Wednesday, the LRT-2 stopped its operations for around 30 minutes due to a "train fault."
An MRT train, meanwhile, stopped between Magallanes and Ayala stations the same morning, forcing scores of passengers to walk along the rail tracks.
