MANILA – Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is an act of heroism as the country fights the pandemic, Vice-President Leni Robredo said Monday.

“Sa panahong ito, kabayanihan ang pagsisilbi sa propesyong medical, ang pagpapabakuna, ang pagsunod sa health protocols, ang pagbabahagi ng katotohanan at pagpalag sa kasinungalingan, ang pagtulong sa nangangailangan sa abot ng makakaya,” Robredo said in her National Heroes’ Day message.

She also said that every Filipino can be a hero in his or her own little way.

“Today reminds us: Heroism can be found beyond the gallows or the battlefield.

National Heroes Day marks the anniversary of the 1896 Cry of Pugad Lawin, the beginning of the Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonizers.
