MANILA - Some small-town lottery operators who are friends of President Rodrigo Duterte do not remit revenues to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, board member Sandra Cam said Wednesday.

STL and other gaming schemes like Peryahan ng Bayan and Keno have been closed since July 26 after Duterte decried their "massive corruption."

One STL operator in Pangasinan alone failed to remit P200 million, claimed Cam.

Asked if others who failed to remit included friends of the President, she told radio DZMM, "Marami naman po."

(There are many.)

"Kaya naaawa po ako kay Pangulong Duterte kasi ang kaniyang drive ay anti-corruption. Sana kaming malalapit sa kanya na inilagay n'ya d'yan, mag-toe the line sana. Hindi iyung gagamitin na taga-Davao sila, kaibigan kami," she said.

(This is why I pity President Duterte: because his drive is anti-corruption. I wish that we who are close to him and whom he put in position would toe the line, instead of saying that they are from Davao and friends with the President.)

Cam declined to name those supposedly involved in corruption, saying she does not want to preempt the President.

"Pagdating na lang po ng tamang panahon sa Senado at sa Kongreso. Kumpleto naman po ako ng dokumentong maipapakita ko sa kanila na ito iyung mga korap," she said.

(I'll just do so in the right time in the Senate and Congress. I have complete documents anyway to show who these corrupt officials are.)

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission last week said a "lifestyle check" on officials of the state-run lottery agency would cover "everyone who held money," even Duterte’s friends.

Cam herself was accused of corruption before the Office of the Ombudsman, with a private citizen claiming earlier this year that she failed to disclose P500 million worth of real estate properties.

The PCSO official said she is "ready to be investigated."
