Malacañang on Monday said it will not investigate Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam, who was accused of graft before the Office of the Ombudsman.

A private citizen, Lino Espinosa Lim Jr. of Masbate, earlier requested the Office of the Ombudsman to investigate Cam's properties supposedly worth a total of P500 million.

"Since it's already with the Ombudsman and the Ombudsman has the power to suspend, I think we'll let it do the process," Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told reporters.

"We will not be duplicating any investigation considering the fact that there is now a pending case with the Ombudsman," he added.

Cam confirmed Monday that she owns several properties in her home province of Masbate, including a resort for manta ray diving, but denied that her assets are worth half a billion pesos.
