MANILA - The Pasig City government said Thursday it would give financial support to 18,500 public transport drivers affected by the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said each beneficiary would receive P3,000 from the city's P55.5-million assistance package.

Some 12,000 tricycle drivers, 5,800 jeepney drivers and 700 UV drivers are set to benefit from the program.

The city will start distributing the cash aid on Monday, March 30, Sotto said on his official Facebook page.
