MANILA - Police arrested 13 people in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Peñafrancia, Naga City Saturday.

The arrests were made on the strength of 11 search warrants for "Isla" or "Sagrada Familia" in zones 5 and 6, a known area of narcotics transactions.

The operation yielded 51 sachets of suspected shabu, various drug paraphernalia and two CCTV computer sets.

Three of the 13 suspects were apprehended while using and repacking narcotics.

The suspects were believed to be members of the Alegre and Arbuis drug groups. Appropriate charges were being prepared against them.

The operation, which lasted for five hours and closed several roads, was an offshoot of two months of surveillance.

C/Insp. Ronnie Fabia, operation team leader, said this is the start of their all-out-war against illegal drugs, in support of the directives of President Rodrigo Duterte. -- Report from Kate Delovieres, ABS-CBN News
