MANILA -- Filipino OPM rock band Itchyworms is venturing into the beverage business as it is set to launch its own craft beer. 

The band made the announcement in a social media post over the weekend.  The group's beer business is inspired by their 2010 hit "Beer." It has two variants: "Beer" and "Pag-Ibig."

The group will be launching its own craft beer via a show billed as "The Itchyworms: Beer o Pag-ibig?" at 123 Block in Mandaluyong City on July 13 at 6 p.m. onwards.

Also performing at the music event are Ebe Dancel, Ciudad, Blaster and The Revisors. 

Itchyworms started as an independent band in 1996 and popularized songs like "Akin Ka Na Lang" and "Beer."

The band also wrote and performed "Kabataang Pinoy," the theme song for the first season of ABS-CBN's "Pinoy Big Brother" teen edition.

Jugs Jugueta, one of the band's members, is one of the co-hosts of ABS-CBN noontime program "It's Showtime."
