MANILA -- Vico Sotto took to social media on Wednesday to greet his mother, screen veteran Coney Reyes, as she celebrates her birthday.

On Instagram, the mayor of Pasig City posted a photo of her mom carrying a baby, whose face has been edited to show his adult self.

"Happy birthday, Mama! I love you!" he wrote.

Sotto's followers could not help but comment on the funny greeting, with some of them referring to Reyes' now-iconic scenes in the movie "Four Sisters and a Wedding."

"Kaya ka paborito ni Mama," said one of his followers.

Another quipped: "Happy birthday, Ma! Sana maging proud po kayo sa 'kin! 'Di ko naman po kasalanan 'yun. God bless po."

Sotto first shared the now-viral photo of Reyes holding a baby back in 2018 as his Mother's Day greeting.

But instead of an adult face, the image was edited two years ago to show a photo from his childhood.

Aside from his new brand of politics, Sotto is also known for his sense of humor which many believe he got from his father, comedy icon Vic Sotto.

Meanwhile, the young mayor also posted a throwback family photo as a birthday greeting for Reyes on his official Facebook page, saying his mother has not seen his other children since the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

"Di pa nakikita ni Mama mga anak (maliban sa 'kin) at apo niya mula ECQ," he said with a sad emoji, using the hashtag #quarantinebirthday.
