A Filipino artist has caught the attention of Marvel Studios for his amazing tribute to King T'Challa.

John Ed de Vera, who specializes in paper cutting, told Esquire that he was commissioned to create fan art as part of a campaign to help promote the release of "Black Panther."

"I still couldn’t believe it happened," he said, adding that the clawed superhero quickly became his favorite following his debut appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016.

He explained that the most challenging part was finding a way to illustrate T'Challa's suit on paper. "I wove some parts and used different types of black paper stock just to get the effect."
