MANILA -- Screen and theater actress Karylle turned to social media to express her excitement to be part of the upcoming historical biopic film "Quezon," chronicling the life of Manuel L. Quezon, the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.

On Instagram, Karylle  shared a series of photos and clip with her fellow cast members taken during their table-read session.

In the caption, the actress-singer said it was an honor for her to portray Quezon's wife, First Lady Aurora Quezon.

"What an honor to be playing First Lady Aurora Quezon in @tbastudiosph's Quezon.Thank you for this amazing opportunity TBA Studios I'm so excited to be working with all of you. I don’t know if 'excited' is a good enough word to express how wonderful I’m feeling right now," Karylle wrote.

She also thanked film's director Jerrold Tarog "for giving me lots of moments to prep with you and the cast."

The actress also shared that she did an initial research for the film at a library in Singapore.

"Can you imagine my surprise as I found photos of Doña Aurora in my fave photo spot in White Cross Children's Home where she served as an honorary president. I have been a volunteer as someone from the community since my bestie @mzhappy258's debut in the home when we were 18," she said.

"Another photo coincidentally is where we shot spiels in my White Cross podcast episode for K's Drama. I also found my old Red Cross pin gifted to me many years ago after doing some volunteer work. It seemed to be meant for the first reading as Doña Aurora also served for Red Cross."

On Tuesday, TBA Studios announced that award-winning actor Jericho  Rosales would make his big screen comeback as Quezon in the film.

"Quezon" marks the continuation of TBA Studios’ cinematic “Bayaniverse”,  a series of films based on Philippine history that includes box office hits “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”

The movie will follow the life of Quezon, a Filipino lawyer and soldier who became the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. It will highlight his tumultuous presidential campaign against then-President Emilio Aguinaldo.

Also part of the "Quezon" cast are Mon Confiado (Emilio Aguinaldo), Benjamin Alves (younger Quezon), Romnick Sarmenta (Sergio Osmeña), JC Santos (Manuel Roxas), and Cris Villanueva (older Joven Hernando, the only fictional character in the film series).

The production of the biographical historical movie is set to start in March.
