MANILA -- The organizers of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this Tuesday have announced the movie which will replace Kris Aquino's "(K)ampon" as part of this year's official entries.

"Sunod," a movie from director Paul Soriano's production house TEN17P, officially takes the place of "(K)ampon" in the lineup.

It is also a horror movie -- rules state that the MMFF can only select replacement films that share the same genre of the disqualified entry -- and is directed by Carlo Ledesma, one of the screenwriters of the cult animated favorite "Saving Sally."

It stars Carmina Villaroel with Mylene Dizon, Susan Africa, and Kate Alejandrino. No further details about it were revealed.

"(K)ampon" was disqualified after the MMFF denied the request of change of lead actor from Derek Ramsay to Gabby Concepcion.

It was explained that the group behind "(K)ampon" submitted their request after the deadline for such adjustments.

Ramsay withdrew from the project because he had to prioritize his network contract with GMA-7.
