MANILA — ABS-CBN on Monday launched “Tinig ng Mga Nawalan,” a tribute to the Filipino fighting spirit and sense of community and service in the face of challenges.

The theme song, performed by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla along with other Kapamilya stars, is a message of hope amid “tragedies like losing loved ones in the fight against COVID-19, as well as the loss of jobs during this pandemic,” ABS-CBN said.

The release of “Tinig ng Mga Nawalan” coincides with the final work day of thousands of ABS-CBN employees who were retrenched, as the result of the Duterte administration denying the network a fresh broadcast franchise.

Its creative team, in fact, includes several retrenched Kapamilya workers, including director Paolo Ramos. Produced by ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management, one of the units gravely affected by the retrenchment, “Tinig ng Mga Nawalan” is also dedicated to employees who have carried out ABS-CBN’s mission of being in the service of Filipinos, and who are now forced to part ways with the company.

Appearing in the music video are artists who used their voices to fight for the rights of their fellow Kapamilya, including Coco Martin, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Bea Alonzo, Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros, Jericho Rosales, Beauty Gonzales, Bianca Gonzales, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Jake Cuenca, Kylie Versoza, Edward Barber, and Alex Gonzaga.

ABS-CBN News journalists Bernadette Sembrano, Zen Hernandez, Alvin Elchico, Jeff Canoy, Chiara Zambrano, and Jacque Manabat are also part of the tribute.

“Tinig ng Mga Nawalan” kicks off the ABS-CBN campaign “Lingkod ng Isa’t Isa,” which highlights the Filipino grit and resilience, and how Filipinos can be heroes for each other in times of trials.

Stories of everyday heroism of Filipinos will be featured on the “Lingkod ng Isa’t Isa” microsite starting Monday. Kapamilyas are enjoined to share their own inspiring stories on social media, with the hashtags #LingkodPinas and #LingkodNgIsatIsa.
