MANILA — Thursday was a night of revelations for “The Killer Bride,” as the hit gothic drama unveiled the mystery behind how Camila (Maja Salvador) survived, and rewound Emma’s (Janella Salvador) steps in deceiving Las Espadas with her claim of possession.

The August 29 episode of the RCD Narratives production showed flashbacks of earlier scenes, but this time with new angles and moments where Emma’s intentions were made clear.

Her bumping into Elias (Joshua Garcia) on her first day in Las Espadas, as seen in the series’ first week, turned out to be no accident, for instance.

Prior to her arrival in the superstitious town, she had long been trained by Camila as an accomplice, from memorizing names and faces, as well as details of Emma’s concocted background, to adjusting her speech.

Emma’s motivation for helping Camila claim justice remained a puzzle.

Meanwhile, Camila, who appeared to have a wealth of resources to carry out her plan, had been preparing all along to exact revenge on those responsible for her incarceration and apparent death.

Camila, who was shown in the first week losing consciousness while trapped inside a jail fire, was actually rescued by Fabio (Miko Raval). Fabio is the brother of Camila’s fellow inmate and friend, Sharon (Karla Pambid), who died in the fire.

While earlier in the series Fabio only had a passing appearance, the Thursday episode belatedly showed that he and Camila were introduced by Sharon during his visit to the prison on the same day as the arson.

Realizing she had lost her newborn Vida in the fire, Camila didn’t find any reason to live on. Fabio, however, convinced Camila to build a new life — through unorthodox means. He introduced her to a criminal group he happened to be part of, and whom he believed would help Camila achieve her goals.
