MANILA – After commenting on Bea Alonzo’s Instagram post hinting on infidelity, Gretchen Barretto sent flowers on Thursday as her way of showing support for her former co-star.
On Instagram Stories, Alonzo shared a photo of white orchids in a pot and a card that read: “Sending you love. Love, ate Gretchen.”
“Thank you,” she replied.

Celebrities showing support for Alonzo amid the rumored affair of her boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, and his “Between Maybes” co-star Julia Barretto is nothing new.

But Gretchen’s gesture stood out for netizens as she is Julia’s aunt.
Gretchen is known to be estranged from Julia’s mother, Marjorie, who has been defending the young actress from critics, demanding them to “stick to the facts.”
Julia has yet to directly address the rumors, although her latest Instagram post implies that she is unfazed by the controversy.
“The difference between coffee and their opinion is – I asked for coffee,” she said on Thursday, showing a photo of her holding a cup of coffee.
