MANILA — More than a decade before "Tala," pop star Sarah Geronimo had another dance megahit, "Sa Iyo."

Originally released in 2003 as part of her debut album, "Sa Iyo" is finally getting an updated version, Geronimo teased on Friday.

"Grabe how time flies! Ang bilis ng panahon!" Geronimo tweeted, noting that it has been 17 years since she first recorded the track.

"Bagong bago pa ako sa industriya at struggle pa ako noon sa confidence lalo na sa shoot. I was so nervous and shy!"

Sharing a short clip from the music video of "Sa Iyo," Geronimo added: "This was just the beginning at sobra akong thankful for all the blessings that came into my life."

Since "Sa Iyo," Geronimo has become a music superstar, and is considered the foremost pop performer in the country.

"At para sa mga naka-appreciate ng 'Sa Iyo,' stay tuned baka magka-refreshed version coming soon para inyo," she said.

Over the years since its release, "Sa Iyo" has remained one of Geronimo's signature tunes and a staple in her major concerts.

In late 2019, its choreography went viral when social media star Mimiyuuuh shared his dance cover, in light of "Tala's" own viral resurgence.

Geronimo's announcement coincided with another record break for "Tala," which, as of this week, has become the most watched local music video on YouTube.
