"I know there's been a trend na sa ibang bansa but since I still want my dad kahit papaano to be part of the wedding, and feeling ko dahil nandito siya at dito siya nakalibing, gusto ko dito talaga," she explained in an interview with reporters Thursday.

Maxene is the daughter of Francis Magalona. She recently got engaged to musician Robby Mananquil, who proposed to her back in February in Japan.

Asked about the preparations for her wedding, Maxene said that she and Mananquil have yet to finalize anything. "Talagang na-confirm ko na hindi ko kayang i-handle ang stress all too well," she admitted.

"Pero natututo naman and I want to treat this as a venue for learning para mas matuto ako, mas tumanda, at mas mature. It's a very humbling experience kasi ang dami talaga isipin, planuhin -- it will really help prepare you for married life."

She also downplayed suggestions that she will be leaving behind her career as an actress once she settles down. "Nothing is going to change. He will always be the supportive partner that I've always had and I'm just super lucky to be with him," she said.
