Angeline Quinto burst into tears Friday over malicious comments targeting her family, in the wake of accusations that she supposedly mocked her "ASAP" co-star Sarah Geronimo's recent emotional breakdown.

The "Patuloy ang Pangarap" hitmaker sat down with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe to address the rumor, that she and Morissette, Geronimo's former ward in "The Voice," supposedly ridiculed the pop star while watching the video of her meltdown in Las Vegas.

Quinto denied such a thing ever happened, and challenged those who accused her to show evidence. She also revealed that Geronimo, learning of the accusations, has reached out to her to apologize over Quinto being the subject of hateful comments on social media.

While Quinto has grown used to being the target of "bashers" online, this, she said, isn't the case when a family member gets dragged into the picture.

The 28-year-old singer broke down in tears on the topic of her adoptive mother, whom she endearingly calls Mama Bob, also being maligned by so-called fans of Geronimo.

In tears, Quinto said: "Lahat ng masasakit na pagsubok na pinagdaanan ko, nalampasan ko 'yun para kay Mama Bob. Lahat ginagawa ko para sa nanay ko. Pero murahin 'yung nanay ko nang ganun-ganun lang, iyon ang hindi ko mapapalagpas.

"Nasasaktan ako kasi sana ako na lang 'yung pagsabihan niyo ng masama, huwag lang si Mama Bob. Kasi kung wala akong kasalanan sa kanila, lalong walang kasalanan 'yung mama ko... Sana ngayon, ibalato na lang nila sa akin 'to. Ngayong Mother's Day, sana huwag na lang si Mama Bob. Sana ako na lang."

Since her showbiz launch in 2011 via ABS-CBN's "Star Power," Quinto's Mama Bob has been a visible figure in her career, whom she has credited as her source of strength and inspiration.

In January 2017, Quinto even wrote and performed a song for her mother, which she debuted on the morning talk show "Magandang Buhay."

Referring to those who went as far as "bashing" her mother, Quinto said: "Sa pagkakataong ito, masasabi ko talaga na nanalo sila. Nanalo sila kasi nakanti nila 'yung kahinaan ko. 'Yung kahinaan ko -- ayokong-ayoko nadadamay ang Mama Bob ko. Iyon ang kahinaan ko sa buong buhay ko."

With a number of threats among the comments she received in recent days, Quinto revealed her camp is now consulting lawyers on a possible course of action.
