Sarah Geronimo is aware of accusations hurled at her childhood competitor and now-fellow "ASAP" performer Angeline Quinto, that the latter supposedly mocked the pop star's recent emotional breakdown in Las Vegas.

Quinto vehemently denied this on Twitter Thursday, and even challenged her accusers to show evidence that she, along with Geronimo's former "The Voice" ward Morissette, indeed ridiculed the "Kilometro" hitmaker while watching the video of her onstage meltdown.

On Friday, Quinto sat down with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe to once again clarify that no such thing happened. She recalled that she was dumbfounded when hateful words from so-called fans of Geronimo started flooding her Twitter notifications early this week.

The "Star Power" winner was on her way back to Manila from an out-of-town show in Marinduque when she caught wind of the rumor, which set off the mudslinging that came from accounts associated with "Popsters," the loyal fanbase of Geronimo.

"Gusto kong malaman kung saan nanggagaling, kahit sino naman siguro, di ba? Sabi ko, unang-una, 'Anong ginawa ko? Wala akong kasalanan na ginawa kahit kanino.' Kumbaga, ako, nandoon ako sa trabaho ko tapos iyon ang makikita ko," she said.

Addressing the accusation specifically, Quinto continued: "Hindi ako abnormal na tao na pagtawanan ang sakit na nararamdaman ng isang tao, lalo si Sarah Geronimo pa. Kaya ganoon din kalakas ang loob ko na humingi ng ebidensya sa mga taong nagsasabi ng masasakit sa akin."

"Kung totoo man po 'yang sinasabi ninyo, basta meron po silang katunayan o magpapatunay na totoo 'yung ginawa ko at ni Morissette, na may nakakita sa amin na tinatawanan namin si Sarah habang pinapanood ang video niya... Sa lahat po ng tao na nagsalita ng masasakit sa akin, lahat sila kayang-kaya kong puntahan nang personal para humingi ng pasensiya, basta ibigay nila sa akin 'yung magpapatunay na totoo 'yung ginawa at binibintang nila sa akin."

While Morissette has yet to speak up on the accusations, another personality involved, TV host Amy Perez, set straight some details that factored in the circulating rumor.

Supposedly, an assistant of Perez was the one who overheard Quinto and Morissette mocking Geronimo.The "It's Showtime" host, however, said that is not possible, as she does not have an assistant and in fact goes to work by herself.

The controversy stirred by the unfounded rumor has apparently reached Geronimo, who is set to finish the last two stops of her "THIS 15 ME" tour in the US by May 6, with a final performance in New York.

She reached out to her former competitor in "Star for a Night" -- the 2002 singing competition that launched Geronimo's career, and where Quinto was among the finalists.

"Ayoko na pong sabihin 'to," Quinto said, "pero sobra akong lalo humanga kay Sarah, kasi nakatanggap po ako ng message sa kanya, at humihingi po siya ng sorry sa akin."

Quinto added: "Maayos kasi kami ni SG, e. Wala akong kahit anong... Wala akong kuwestiyon sa ugali ni Sarah, simula noon. Bata pa lang kami, magkakilala na kami. Nasasaktan din po ako na nangyayari ito sa amin, na ang daming taong nadadamay."

The "Patuloy ang Pangarap" singer went on to point out that the recent behavior of some fans of Geronimo is a far cry from the personality of their idol, who is known in showbiz circles for her humility and unassuming demeanor.

"Para sa akin, kung ikaw ay isang tao na iniidolo mo ang isang Sarah Geronimo, sana hindi kita nakikitaan ng ganon, kasi hindi ganon si Sarah. Napakalayo ng ugali ni Sarah sa mga nakikita ko na ginagawa ng ibang tao, na humahanga sa kanya," she said.
