MANILA – As expected, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame” smashed Philippine box office records on its opening day.
The new movie, which brings a decade’s worth of action and storytelling to an epic conclusion, opened on Wednesday with P205,676,345 in 970 screens.
“Endgame” broke the record of the 2018 Avengers movie “Infinity War” (P141.6 million), making it the biggest opening for a Marvel film in the country to date.

Some cinemas started showing the film as early as 6:01 a.m., with others holding 24-hour screenings.
