Darna is readying for her flight, despite earlier rumors that the superheroine's big-screen return has been "shelved."

After correcting a March report that the Erik Matti film is no longer pushing through, producer Star Cinema on Sunday shared a new update on the Liza Soberano starrer.

On Instagram, the ABS-CBN film outfit posted Sunday a photo of Soberano and Matti in the Star Cinema office for a meeting. The photo was captioned: "Earlier today. #Darna"

Soberano started shooting scenes for the movie mid-March, with a leaked photo of the actress in casual attire making the rounds online.

While re-posts of that photo have apparently been taken down, Soberano confirmed that it indeed showed her on the set of the project.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if showbiz newcomer Tony Labrusca, most recently seen in the fantaserye "La Luna Sangre," will be joining Soberano in the film. This, after rumors of his being cast in the project, and a "Darna"-related photo posted by Matti where a man's identity is concealed with an emoji.

Soberano has confirmed that Labrusca is being "considered" to star alongside her. The final casting, however, has yet to be announced.
