MANILA – Here’s what Mark Bautista thinks about the idea of having a third restroom for transgenders, which was brought up during the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 pageant.

The singer-actor took to Twitter to answer the question addressed to Karen Gallman, who was eventually crowned Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental: “Do you agree that a third restroom should be built for transgenders? Why or why not?”

“Third restroom is for PWD (persons with disabilities), right? So dapat fourth na [for transgenders],” he said in jest.

He added: “But seriously, we just need to be accepting and open… And I think also be responsible and respectful in using the toilet… A special restroom is not an issue, I guess.”

During Bb. Pilipinas 2018, Gallman was supportive of the idea of a third restroom for transgenders, saying it gives “privacy” to both women and men.

The matter was also addressed on Monday’s “Miss Q&A” segment on the noontime program “It’s Showtime” which features aspiring gay and transgender queens.

It was last February when Bautista confirmed being bisexual via his autobiography.

“I love both sexes,” he was quoted as saying, based on leaked pages of his book titled “Beyond the Mark.”
