MANILA -- Singer-actor Mark Bautista gave brief but meaningful words in his first public appearance since he reportedly confirmed being bisexual in an upcoming autobiography, based on leaked pages of the book.

The 34-year-old actor was one the guest performers in Joanna Ampil's Valentine's Day concert, "Love Wins," held at BGC Arts Center in Taguig. He performed "Corner of the Sky" from the musical "Pippin," and "Even Now" by Barry Manilow, among others.

In between his numbers, Bautista addressed the audience, saying, "Thank you so much for the love, for the respect, and for the support."

"We love you, you know that," Ampil told Bautista on stage.

Bautista has been the subject of headlines in recent weeks, after leaked copies of his book "Beyond the Mark" appeared to confirm his sexual preference. "I love both sexes," he was quoted as writing in a PEP.ph report.

The former Kapamilya star, whose runner-up finish in a 2003 singing competition spurred his showbiz career, also preferred to keep mum when asked by reporters Wednesday how he felt after his turn on stage.

"I'm happy," was Bautista's only response before excusing himself.
