MANILA -- It was a role she had played for well over a year, until the finale of the hit series, "Kadenang Ginto," this month.

And while there's no doubt that Dimples Romana had the time of her life portraying Daniela Mondragon, dubbing it the "most challenging journey I have been on, but also the most rewarding," she wasted little time with her farewells, as she was keen to resume her other favorite role -- a loving mother to her kids.

This Wednesday, the actress uploaded a vlog on YouTube about the time she transformed into the Marvel superhero Iron Man to surprise her son Alonzo for his fifth birthday.

She came up with the idea during the final shooting day of "Kadenang Ginto," when she put on a gladiator outfit, and she immediately asked their costume designer, Mark Rodil, to make an Iron Man outfit.

Romana admitted that she didn't have tons of time to spend with her children because of "Kadenang Ginto," which aired weekdays from 2018, and she wanted to do something special for Alonzo.

Rodil did not disappoint, and the result was a heartwarming surprise her son will surely remember for a long time. Check it out below:

Alonzo is Romana’s second child with her husband, Boyet Ahmee. They also have a teenage daughter Callie.
