MANILA—It's going to be their first time working together.
So it's understandable that James Reid's chemistry with K-pop star Nancy McDonie, his co-star in the upcoming "The Soulmate Project," may not instantly be there, a fact they acknowledged in a video released this Tuesday.
The short clip showed some scenes from their first look test held this past week. It was a mixed bag of shots of them lovingly staring at one another, shyly stealing glances, and slow dancing, among notables.
"Today [we] did some script reading, look test, kinda breaking the ice and try to build up some chemistry. Today was our first day," shared Reid in an interview featured in the video.
"The Soulmate Project" is from Dreamscape, and will be McDonie's first TV gig in the country. McDonie is best known as a member of K-pop group Momoland, but has also found fame with Filipinos for resembling local star Liza Soberano.
It has been confirmed that filming will begin this month, and that some scenes will be shot in South Korea.
Antoinette Jadaone, who also helmed Reid's "On the Wings of Love," and "Till I Met You," will be writing and directing this new project.
