MANILA — Bad weather on Thursday spawned floods in some Metro Manila roads and prompted the cancellation of several flights. 


The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said the following roads were flooded but passable to vehicles as of 1 p.m. 


2:56PM Commonwealth University Avenue EB, 8 inches
12:41pm Edsa Shaw Tunnel NB, 8 inches
12:37pm Aurora Araneta after intersection WB, 4 to 5 inches
12:37pm Aurora Araneta after intersection Sb, 4 to 5 inches
12:29pm Roxas Pedro Gil NB, 9 inches
12:25pm E.Rodriguez Araneta Nb and Sb,  4 to 5 inches as of 12:41PM 
12:11pm Along G.Araneta SB from Kaliraya to E.Rodriguez, 2 to 4 inches, SUBSIDED AS OF 12:41
9:45am Andrews Tramo WB, 8 inches, SUBSIDED AS OF 12:58PM
9:28am Roxas Us Embassy NB, 9 inches

Meanwhile, the following flights were canceled as of 9:50 a.m., the Manila International Airport Authority said.

Tropical cyclone Yagi, known as Enteng locally, intensified into a super typhoon on Thursday morning over the South China Sea.



As of 8 a.m., Yagi was packing winds of 195 kilometers per hour and up to 240 kph gusts, PAGASA said.


The Yagi-enhanced habagat will continue to bring up to torrential rains over the western sections of Luzon, including Metro Manila, the weather bureau said.
