MAYNILA - Tataas ang singil sa kuryente ng Meralco sa paparating na bill sa Hunyo, anunsiyo ng power distributor nitong Biyernes.
Ayon sa Meralco, tataas nang P0.08 kada kilowatt hour ang kanilang singil ngayong buwan sa pagtaas ng presyo ng kuryenteng binili nila sa spot market.

Singil sa kuryente ng Meralco, tataas sa June billing ng P0.08/kwh dahil sa pagsipa ng presyo ng kuryente sa spot market noong kalagitnaan ng Mayo 2021.

Katumbas ito ng P16 na dagdag sa mga residential customers na may 200 kWh na konsumo kada buwan, P24 sa mga kumokonsumo ng 300 kWh, P32 sa mga kumokonsumo ng 400 kWh, at P40 sa mga kumokonsumo ng 500 kWh.
“Tumaas din ang demand kaya kahit nama-manage natin ang bilateral contracts, it's really the increase in spot market,” ani Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga.

Pero hindi pa kasali rito ang serye ng yellow at red alerts noong katapusan ng Mayo hanggang unang linggo ng Hunyo, kung kailan sumipa rin nang husto ang presyo ng kuryente sa spot market.
Kapag numipis o kinulang kasi ang suplay ng kuryente, sumisipa rin ang presyo sa spot market.
